Auch im Oktober gibt es wieder viele Neuerungen in Windows Azure. So wurde gestern das Windows Azure SDK 2.2 veröffentlicht, schreibt ScottGu in Windows Azure: Announcing release of Windows Azure SDK 2.2 (with lots of goodies). Die wichtigsten Neuerungen sind die Unterstützung von Visual Studio 2013 (RTM Release), die Integration von Windows Azure Sign-In in Visual Studio und die Remote Debugging Cloud Services mit Visual Studio. Weiters besteht nun Firewall Management Support für SQL Databases direkt in Visual Studio, es gibt neue Visual Studio 2013 RTM VM Images für MSDN Subscribers, neue Windows Azure Management Libraries for .NET und wieder aktualisierte Windows Azure PowerShell Cmdlets und ein neues ScriptCenter zur Automatisierung. Ein kurzer Tipp an alle, die bereits auf Windows 8.1 aktualisiert haben und sich wundern, warum die Suchergebnisse in Google (oder auch andere betroffenen Webseiten) nicht korrekt angezeigt werden: Die liegt daran, dass die Kompatibilitätsansicht im 64bit Internet Explorer 11 nicht funktioniert (KB2887858). Die schnelle Abhilfe besteht darin. in den IE Extras (ALT+X) zu den Einstellungen der Kompatibilitätsansicht zu wechseln. Dort dann das Häkchen bei Kompatibilitätslisten von Microsoft verwenden entfernen und schon stimmt das Erscheinungsbild wieder. ...

Das Windows 8.1 RT Update ist seit kurzem wieder im Windows Store verfügbar. Das Update war kurz nach der Veröffentlichung von Windows 8.1 von Microsoft zurückgezogen worden, weil es auf manchen Microsoft Surface Geräten (ohne den letzten Firmware Updates) Probleme beim Booten geben konnte – Windows RT startet dann nicht mehr. Laut Microsoft sind weniger als 0,1% (oder weniger als 1 von 1000) Geräte betroffen. Ein Großteil der Surface RT Geräte haben somit keine Problem mit dem Update. Der Update-Vorgang funktioniert wie gewohnt über den Windows Store durch Ausführen des Installers und ein paar Neustarts für das neue Betriebssystem. ...
