Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella is currently on Europe tour and announced a number of investments in the Microsoft Cloud in Europe. Microsoft will extend regional hubs in Ireland and in the Netherlands and announced new datacenters in the UK and in Germany. Find more information about the UK plans here: Microsoft announces plans to offer cloud services from the UK. In Germany, Deutsche Telecom as Data Trustee under German law will be operating the German datacenters. This (data will not be saved and transported outside of Germany) was a request a lot of German customers had in the Microsoft cloud – and Microsoft reacted. The Microsoft Cloud in Germany will be available during the second half of 2016. ...

Delegate365 will be updated to version 4.5.3 this Friday. In this version resource mailboxes receive a new feature for controlling the AllRequestOutOfPolicy property (a feature the Office 365 portal does not provide). The AllRequestOutOfPolicy setting: When using resources like a room, there can be an issue with reservation: “Office 365 users can reserve a meeting room even though it’s already reserved for another meeting”. Microsoft describes this issue in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3066068. This resource mailbox property cannot be set in the Office 365 portal, just with PowerShell – and with Delegate365 for portal admins and scope admins as well. ...

Today Microsoft announced some changes in OneDrive (the consumer cloud storage) on the OneDrive Blog. To make it quick, here are the changes taken from the source blogpost “OneDrive storage plans change in pursuit of productivity and collaboration”. We’re no longer planning to offer unlimited storage to Office 365 Home, Personal, or University subscribers. Starting now, those subscriptions will include 1 TB of OneDrive storage. 100 GB and 200 GB paid plans are going away as an option for new users and will be replaced with a 50 GB plan for $1.99 per month in early 2016. ...

Am Donnerstag hat die dritte Veranstaltung aus unserer Office 365 Pills Roadshow in Wien im Seminarzentrum der ETC stattgefunden. Das Thema war “Hybrid in die Cloud”. In kurzen Sessions informierten Toni Pohl, Christoph Wilfing, Christian Lapacka und Dennis Hobmaier (AvePoint) und Martina Grom über Office 365 Identitätsmanagement, Application Management, Exchange 2013 und 2016 Hybrid, SharePoint 2016 Hybrid und AvePoint Tools sowie über Office Pro Plus Deployment.
