Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella is currently on Europe tour and announced a number of investments in the Microsoft Cloud in Europe. Microsoft will extend regional hubs in Ireland and in the Netherlands and announced new datacenters in the UK and in Germany. In Germany, Deutsche Telecom as Data Trustee under German law will be operating the German datacenters. This (data will not be saved and transported outside of Germany) was a request a lot of German customers had in the Microsoft cloud – and Microsoft reacted. Delegate365 will be updated to version 4.5.3 this Friday. In this version resource mailboxes receive a new feature for controlling the AllRequestOutOfPolicy property (a feature the Office 365 portal does not provide). The AllRequestOutOfPolicy setting: When using resources like a room, there can be an issue with reservation: “Office 365 users can reserve a meeting room even though it’s already reserved for another meeting”. Microsoft describes this issue in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3066068. This resource mailbox property cannot be set in the Office 365 portal, just with PowerShell – and with Delegate365 for portal admins and scope admins as well. ...

Today Microsoft announced some changes in OneDrive (the consumer cloud storage) on the OneDrive Blog. To make it quick, here are the changes taken from the source blogpost “OneDrive storage plans change in pursuit of productivity and collaboration”. We’re no longer planning to offer unlimited storage to Office 365 Home, Personal, or University subscribers. Starting now, those subscriptions will include 1 TB of OneDrive storage. 100 GB and 200 GB paid plans are going away as an option for new users and will be replaced with a 50 GB plan for $1.99 per month in early 2016. ...

Today’s a quick tip: Get some more space on you local hard drive by deleting unused space of OneDrive For Business Synchronization. Navigate to your user directory and in the Microsoft Office version directory in Windows Explorer. The path is (for Office 2016 – otherwise use your installed Office version directory): C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0 …check the size of the “OfficeFileCache.old” directory (which is 3GB in my case)… …and delete this directory. That’s it. ...

With Delegate365 version 4.5.2 there come some improvements. See the details here. Sorting in all Lists: We changed the sorting in all lists of D365. Before that, sorting only sorted all visible items on the current page in the list. If a user now clicks on a sortable column header, D365 now sorts all items in the list - regardless on which page the entry is. The following screenshot shows the behavior: In this user list there are two pages. If the Admin clicks on the column “Display Name”, all items are sorted. If the sort order is descending like here, we see the last item “Zack Kelly”, even if this user actually was on page two. So, now D365 sorts all items (server side) in any list and no longer just the items on the current page (client side). This behavior now delivers the results a user would expect of the sorting. All lists have been updated in D365 and now use this new sorting method. Besides: Also Search is searching all entries in lists! ...

Zur Zeit gibt es wieder vermehrt Spam-EMails, die angeblich von PayLife stammen und darüber informieren, dass “von einem nicht autorisierten Computer auf Ihr Konto zugegriffen wurde”. Bloss nicht öffnen – und löschen! Die Phishing EMail sieht so aus. Der Link “Paylife.at” führt zu einer falschen Adresse… (die Website-Adressen ändern sich ständig), und immer mit der eigenen EMail-Adresse dahinter… Löschen und bei solchen “Bank”-EMails sehr vorsichtig sein. Mit Windows 10 hat Microsoft die Online-Update Funktion mit Slow und Fast Ring eingeführt. Eigentlich sollte es keine Windows 10 Preview ISO Downloads mehr geben, allerdings hat Microsoft recht überraschend vor kurzem die Windows 10 ISO Build 10565 - das ISO Image des aktuellen Insider-Builds - zum Download veröffentlicht. Als Grund nennt Gabriel Aul, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, dass der ISO Download zum Testen der Aktivierungsfunktion von Windows 10 dienen soll.
