Scott Guthrie, Executive Vice President of the Microsoft Cloud and Enterprise group, hat die Übernahme von Xamarin heute in seinem Blog angekündigt.

In "Welcoming the Xamarin team to Microsoft" schreibt Scott: "...As part of this commitment I am pleased to announce today that Microsoft has signed an agreement to acquire Xamarin, a leading platform provider for mobile app development..."

The combination of Xamarin, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Team Services, and Azure delivers a complete mobile app dev solution that provides everything a developer needs to develop, test, deliver and instrument mobile apps for every device. We are really excited to see what you build with it..."
