Impressive numbers

I am always impressed by the numbers of Office 365... more than 1 million servers in 100+ datacenters. Also the effort for operating such datacenters is tremendous. The second picture shows the modular method of construction of the server containers with the air cooling station on top of these thousands of servers.

We met a lot of colleagues and friends here at the summit.

Martina´s Yammer session

Our Office 365 expert Martina Grom (@magrom) had a session about "Yammer Enterprise Administration"

The session was about how to manage users & authentication (SSO & Active Directory Sync) as well as common Yammer administration & configuration settings, permissions in Yammer and the Office 365 ecosystem.

Martina got great feedback from the audience, also in some tweets. Thanks for that! Zwinkerndes Smiley

My personal impression of the event

As far as I have seen, there were a lot of Microsoft Partners there, not so many customers.

For me personally the event was too much basics, but to be honest, we are working very intensively with Office 365 and Azure since years, so this was to be expected. I attended some of the developer´s sessions, where there was not much new to me (I already knew and have tested Office 365 API and some solutions from the GitHub OfficeDev and Office365 Developer Patterns and Practices).

The samples shown are all on GitHub - which is great - but at least for me they were not very attractive. When starting with Office 365 development I would have chosen more extensive or more sexy samples to get a little bit of "wow" effect, not just a line of output or a theme with orange font color instead of blue. From the session titles I expected more than basic sessions, but that´s ok. Day two had much better content than day one.

As discussed with Jeremy in one session it would be great to have some kind of changelog or a Yammer network with current news about Office 365 development (in ?)

Anyway, the event was great and - as always - it was very nice to meet colleagues and friends there to chat, have fun and to meet new people.
