2023 was the year when we finally overcame the pandemic that affected many aspects of our lives. We resumed our normal activities while also applying the lessons we learned from a challenging situation, where we had to limit our travel, social interactions, and work remotely. From a business perspective, the year was very rewarding for us. Congratulations to the atwork team behind the Sign Language Project (SLRproject.ai) for winning the Microsoft Austria Partner Innovation Award 2023! The project aims to develop a machine learning model that can automatically translate Sign Language into text and transmit this text into various communication programs, such as Microsoft Teams. It is an innovative development and research project for sign language recognition with Azure Artificial Intelligence Services (Azure AI). Today Microsoft announced Microsoft 365 Copilot at a LinkedIn Live event. Microsoft describes the service as an “AI-powered tool that boosts productivity and creativity in the Microsoft 365 world”. Worum geht es in dem Projekt? Wir bei atwork haben zurzeit ein superspannendes Projekt mit dem Titel “AI for Good” laufen, für das wir Deine Mithilfe benötigen. Wir haben ein Software-Tool entwickelt, mit dem es möglich ist mittels Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) Gebärdensprache automatisch in Untertitel etwa in Microsoft Teams oder Zoom Onlinemeetings zu übersetzen. Damit das auch wirklich gut funktioniert, benötigen wir GebärdensprecherInnen für die Österreichische Gebärdensprache (ÖGS), die mit uns gemeinsam kurze Videos einiger Basisgebärden aufnehmen. Zu Beginn werden wir rund 50 Gebärden aufnehmen, mit denen wir unser KI-Model trainieren und optimieren wollen. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt wollen wir das Trainingsdaten-Set auf rund 500 Gebärden erweitern. ...

One is the Sketch2Code project. “Sketch2Code uses AI to convert hand-written drawings to working HTML prototypes.” Let´s try it out! The Microsoft AI Lab projects website shows a bunch of interesting projects. Some of them are probably known, others are worth to explore. The Sketch2Code website informs about the project: Transform any hands-drawn design into a HTML code with AI.
