It´s almost time for SharePoint and Project Conference Adriatcs 2014! In about two weeks, SPC Adriatcs Conference 2014 will be held from 15th to 16th October in Zagreb/Croatia. This will be the third SPC Adriatics organized by the three MVPs Nenad Trajkovski and Toni Frankola from Croatia and Adis Jugo from Bosnia and Herzegovina. What once started as an (smaller) IT conference just for the Adriatics region became an international recognized and well known conference with speakers from whole Europe and America and attendees from all over the region. ...

Last week the IT DevConnections conference took place in the cool location of Aria resort in Las Vegas with about 1.400 attendees. As every successful conference is also present in Social Media we collected data from Twitter and publish some summary statistic of the the event - as we did for devconnections 2013 last year. The timeframe of the reporting is Sun, 14th to 22th of September – so we covered the whole last (conference) week with hashtag #devconnections. So, here we go. Last week we from atwork (@magrom and @atwork) have been part of IT DevConnections conference which took place in fabulous Las Vegas. It was our second year at DevConnections. Last year we´ve been in the developer track, this year we had two sessions in the SharePoint track. This week the IT DevConnections conference takes place in fabolous Las Vegas. This is the second year where we from atwork were part of this great conference. Meeting experts and colleagues from all over the world makes this event exceptional – and, it´s in hot and sunny Las Vegas! In Delegate365 version 2.7 there were some minor fixes rolled out. Style Sheets and client messages were updated. The user import with an CSV file had a problem with updating the new imported users in the users list. Since D365 uses a cache layer for user objects to improve performance since version 2.3 the new users didn´t show up immediately after the file import but after the automatic sync task (which runs in the background in a predefined time frame). With this fix the new importet users now show up immediately in the users list. ...

Delegate365 changelog version 2.6. We internally changed the encryption of stored credentials and extended it to protect all custom values. D365 uses an own Service Account for accessing and transferring user data to Azure Active Directory. For Exchange functionality like Alias email addresses or distribution lists as well as reporting data D365 needs additional credentials. These essential data must be stored in a secure way. To ensure safety in D365 we changed the encryption and extended it to all properties stored in the D365 database with version 2.6. Now all custom config values (even fields like company name, address, phone number, etc.) are encrypted with an Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm. ...

Probably you’ve seen a lot of photos and videos this week of celebrities and other well known business people dumping buckets of ice water over their heads. Here’s why and how we participated in it. The #IceBucketChallenge is about raising money and awareness for a disease called “ALS” (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) which is a motor neurone disease. The rules of the challenge: To accept a person has to dump a bucket of ice water over his head within the next 24 hours or donate money (usually $100) toward fighting ALS. Even if a person completes the challenge, they’re welcome to donate money too – actually everybody is most welcome to make a donation at https://www.alsa.org. Delegate365 changelog version 2.5. There´s a new feature concerning distribution lists built in. We got the request that it would be useful to integrate existing distribution lists into other distribution lists (DL) in D365, so that all members of a DL automatically receive emails if their DL is member of one or more other DL(´s). So now in D365 v2.5 it is possible to put existing DL´s as member into another DL. This feature is handy and reduces potential synchronization steps and eases the organizational tasks for the admins. ...
