SMTP Authentication in Users / Mailbox settings: A new switch SMTP Authentication has been added to the Mailbox settings of a User. This allows, see Enable or disable authenticated client SMTP submission (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online. Usually, Microsoft recommends to disable SMTP AUTH in your Exchange Online organization and to enable it only for the accounts (mailboxes) that still require it. If security defaults is enabled in your organization, SMTP AUTH is already disabled in Exchange Online. However, admins can modify this setting in the Mailbox features section. The SMTP Authentication dropdown allows to set the setting to* On, Off, *and Organization settings. which means that the settings for the user are inherited from the organization´s transportation rules settings. This setting corresponds to the setting in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, under Users / Active Users / Select a user / Manage Email Apps / Authenticated SMTP switch or with PowerShell. In PowerShell, this setting is set with Set-TransportConfig and Set-CASMailbox with an attribute named SmtpClientAuthenticationDisabled, where the organization settings are equal to $null, On means $false, and Off means $true. This is simplified in Delegate365 to be more understandable. ...

Congratulations to the atwork team behind the Sign Language Project (SLRproject.ai) for winning the Microsoft Austria Partner Innovation Award 2023! The project aims to develop a machine learning model that can automatically translate Sign Language into text and transmit this text into various communication programs, such as Microsoft Teams. It is an innovative development and research project for sign language recognition with Azure Artificial Intelligence Services (Azure AI). The SLR project is a remarkable example of how technology can have a positive impact on society using modern AI technology. Commsverse is a dedicated Microsoft Teams community conference focused on improving the use of Microsoft Teams and Viva technologies in the workplace. The conference took place from 21-22 June 2023 in the Brooklands motor racing circuit in Weybridge, Surrey, UK. We are very proud that we could be part of the conference for the second time. We enjoyed the Commsverse conference held at Mercedes-Benz World at the historic Brooklands racetrack in Weybridge, Surrey, UK as a memorable and exciting experience. The combination of a first-class conference and the history of automotive technology and a prestigious venue created an atmosphere that was nothing short of impressive. Upon entering the world of Mercedes-Benz, participants were greeted by a fascinating environment that perfectly combined history and innovation. The venue’s rich heritage as the birthplace of British motorsport adds additional excitement to the conference. The exhibition of past racing legends and the elegant modernity of the facility created an impressive and very interesting environment. There was a lot to learn and a lot to see. Martina and I had the privilege of attending the 365 EduCon in the busy city of Washington, D.C. in mid-June to speak there about Microsoft 365 technologies and solutions. 365 EduCon DC, a Microsoft 365 Conference, brings to you the world’s leading experts in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, Microsoft Teams and Azure. The conference took place from June 12 to 16, 2023, in the Washington Downtown in the Walter E Washington Convention Center. The location was perfect, right in the center of downtown. Updating License Name Mappings during Sync: The background sync now checks the hash of a Microsoft service file that contains all M365-friendly license names (SKUs) and plan names. If there is a change in a Microsoft license name, the Delegate635 sync updates it´s database to always show the latest product and plan names in the licenses. With this feature, all Microsoft product names are automatically updated, regardless of what licenses the customer tenant has. If the naming is not consistent, this is unfortunately due to the quality of the data provided by Microsoft. ...

In mid-May we had the pleasure of attending our first in-person techorama.be conference in beautiful Antwerp. Techorama mainly focuses on developer technologies, architecture, but also on Modern Workplace and Data and Power Platform. This year the conference had the theme “Jungle Edition”. The entire conference and details were jungle themed, including team outfit, exhibitors and even a waterfall. What a great (jungle) experience! Techorama boasts an impressive lineup of renowned speakers and experts from various domains, attracting attendees with broad offerings. The hallmark of any great conference lies in its ability to deliver engaging and enlightening content, and Techorama certainly excelled in this aspect with about 2000 participants. Attendees could immerse themselves in the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, developing technologies, cloud computing, data analytics, DevOps, and much more.
