Delegate365 version 1

This is part 1 of our changelog for our product Delegate 365. The purpose is to provide a web-portal for delegating administrative tasks for Microsoft Office 365 customers to ease managing tasks within a company or organization. The situation in larger companies as well as in educational services (with maybe thousands of email-accounts) is that a global administrator or the central IT-departement has a lot of work in performing basic tasks like creating and updating email-accounts and assigning rights for users. In the Office 365 portal there exist roles, but all administrative roles always have access to all users – not only groups of users. ...

Why I switched from iPhone to Windows Phone 8 and wont go backfor now

Why I switched from iPhone to Windows Phone 8 and wont go backfor now

Anybody who knows me in person is aware that I am a very Microsoft committed person. As a Microsoft Office 365 MVP I use Microsoft technology day in day out with some high effort towards public cloud services. But that does not mean that I use any Microsoft device: my all day laptop is a 11’’ MacBook Air with Windows 8 on it and I used an iPhone since 2009. The MacBook Air is always good for starting conversations in front of presentations or talks to customers. The iPhone was a nice new gadget in 2009 and I stayed with it over the last years, buying the iPhone 3, the iPhone 3s, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4s. ...

Windows 8 on a MacBook Air

Windows 8 on a MacBook Air

I am an Ultrabook Fan: Ultrabooks are small, lightweight and easy to handle. You need a lot of adapters (which have some weight too) and Ultrabooks can be used as a permanent working device. On my Ultrabook I am able to test how Office 2011 works together with Office 365. All in all a lot of advantages. My Ultrabook is the “I am a PC” Version: I use Windows on a separate Partition and have included a second Windows 7 Installation via VHD-boot. Both Windows Installations are present via Bootloader and I can choose between them. ...

Siri and the best smartphone ever story

Siri and the best smartphone ever story

There was a lot of amusement in the community about Siri and the answer to “What is the best smartphone ever”? The answer is simple and amusing: Nokia’s Lumia 900 is the best smartphone ever, according to Siri. I tried to reproduce the behavior with my Apple iPhone 4S and played around with some questions and Siri answered to them. The answer to exactly that question depends on one fact: the word “ever”. ...

How to develop Windows 8 Apps in Azure

Find a cool article about Developing Windows Azure, Cloud-Based Applications With Windows 8-What you need and how to get there in Bruno Terkaly´s msdn-blog! His tips: Use VS2010 + Azure SDK 1.6 (Visual Studio 2011 does not yet support the Azure SDK and tooling) parallel with VS11 Beta and SQL Server 2008 R2 Express with SP1. And Windows 8 of course.
