Today is Microsoft Ignite’s last conference day. Microsoft largest IT-conference MSIgnite took place from 4t to 8th of May in Chicagos’s McCormick center, some miles south of downtown. Martina and I attended BUILD conference too, so we have a direct comparison of the two large Microsoft conferences this year. The size was impressive Five conference days are exhausting. Well, actually this Friday is just half a conference day, because it ended after noon and the expo hall was closed down yesterday. But let’s start with the beginning. ...

Time flies! As soon as BUILD conference 2015 started it’s over now. Martina and I arrived a week ago in California and spent some days in Silicon valley (working there…) and north of San Francisco before attending the conference. BUILD, the 5th This was our 4th BUILD. In total there were five BUILD conferences (after Microsoft paused and renamed the PDC and started with Windows 8): The first one was in 2011 in Los Angeles, Anaheim, followed 2012 at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, we skipped 2013 in San Fran, Moscone Center, and have been at the last BUILD 2014 and now in 2015, also in the same location. Willkommen beim dritten Global Azure Bootcamp! Am Samstag, dem 25. April 2015, findet dieses Event in Dutzenden Orten weltweit statt. Das Event wird von der Community für die Community durchgeführt und ist kostenlos. In Österreich findet das Global Azure Bootcamp wieder in der HTBLA Leonding in Oberösterreich statt. Im März 2014 waren es bereits 136 Veranstaltungsorte – hier wurde unter anderem eine riesige globale Computer-Farm erstellt. Von 9. bis 11. März fand in Erding bei München die SharePoint Konferenz für Developer von ppEDV statt. Wir von atwork waren mit zwei Sessions dabei (siehe Agenda). Martina and I just returned from the Microsoft Community Open Day event in Munich. The name can be misleading for people outside of Microsoft, because COD is actually a closed event for members of the Microsoft community leaders in the MVP Program and the CLIP Program within a region. Here community leaders and members can inform about news and do a lot of networking. In our case we both belong to the german speaking D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). COD usually takes place somewhere in the corresponding region, last year in Berlin, this year in Munich, at the Microsoft Office. [Additionally there´s the yearly Global MVP summit for ALL MVP´s at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond…] ...

Gestern fand bei Microsoft Österreich die Veranstaltung “So sicher ist die Cloud – Datenschutz und Datensicherheit in der Microsoft Cloud” statt. Hochkarätige Dozenten informierten über Datensicherheit und gesetzliche Rahmenbedingungen in der Cloud. Vortragende waren unter anderem Rechtsanwalt Stephan Winklbauer, Microsoft-Österreich-CTO Harald Leitenmüller, Software-Architect Rainer Stropek und Office 365 Expertin Martina Grom von atwork. Das Auditorium war knallvoll. Nach der Vormittagspause lichteten sich die Reihen ein wenig. Auf jeden Fall ist Datensicherheit in der Cloud für Kunden und Partner ein sehr relevantes Thema. ...

The Office 365 summit toured through a lot of worldwide locations. Last week the roadshow stopped by in Amsterdam – the European event. We have been there and enjoyed the summit (for some impressions and Martina´s session see here). In Amsterdam there have been almost 1.300 participants, about 650 IT-Pros and 150 developers. The Office 365 Summit took place in Amsterdam these days (from 12 to 13th February). Office 365 summit is a free event to get in touch with Microsoft experts about the SaaS Microsoft cloud services around Office. The summit “Office 365 Summit is traveling around the world and delivering technical and sales training direct from the source with Microsoft experts. Anfang Januar fand die Office 365 Konferenz (office365konferenz.net) in Köln statt. Ergänzend zu unseren Artikeln hier im Blog (siehe Wrap-up Office 365 Konferenz in Köln, Office 365 Konferenz Interviews und #office365konf on Twitter) hier ein paar Zahlen zum Event. Die Veranstaltung war mit insgesamt 130 Teilnehmern an beiden Tagen ausgebucht. 26 Sprecher (davon 16 Microsoft MVP´s) hielten 25 Sessions plus Keynote und eine FAQ-Runde. Die Konferenzbewertungen waren durch die Bank sehr gut. Das größte Manko war, dass die Location für die Teilnehmeranzahl teilweise zu eng war – das werden wir beim nächsten Event besser planen. ...
