March 8th is celebrated worldwide as International Womens Day. This year I was wondering if I should continue. So much has changed in today's world. We cannot change the past, but we can change our future. Every. Single. Day. We are now in 2026 edition and my slots for 2027 and 2028 are already filled. Every woman makes an impact in the industry, and I want all of them to shine.

We enjoyed being part of this years TechCon 365 conference in Dallas, Texas. From November 3-7, 2024, the conference center in Dallas Irving became the center of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform Know How as more than 500 tech enthusiasts gathered for the TechCon 365 event. This years conference was a melting pot of knowledge, and networking opportunities, featuring over 130 sessions and 25 workshops led by top experts in Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, AI, and more.

In part 1 of this series we described the scenario for our Office 365 groups governance toolkit. In this part we will setup a workflow for the Office 365 and Microsoft Teams provisioning. Workflows help to follow specific processes for a successful collaboration. Offering self-services for users is a key to reduce workloads on the IT department and to allow users to cover their requirements quickly while the organizations policies are enforced during the process. A frequently asked request is how to provision a new Microsoft Team in Office 365 in a secure and monitored way. See how this can be implemented here. To allow an app to create a Microsoft group or team programmatically in a workflow, we will use the Microsoft Graph API, Azure Functions and Flow or Logic Apps. With these technologies, we can create powerful workflows to offer a self-service for users to create a team when needed, approved by the manager and being provisioned with all the necessary properties and permissions.

This year, the conference took place in Orlando, Florida, from 25th to 29th September. With approximately 30,000 attendees and about 700 breakout, a lot of theater-sessions a large expo and a lot of networking this event was big dataoverflow. See my personal impressions here.

I am an Ultrabook Fan: Ultrabooks are small, lightweight and easy to handle. You need a lot of adapters (which have some weight too) and Ultrabooks can be used as a permanent working device. On my Ultrabook I am able to test how Office 2011 works together with Office 365. All in all a lot of advantages.

My Ultrabook is the “I am a PC” Version: I use Windows on a separate Partition and have included a second Windows 7 Installation via VHD-boot. Both Windows Installations are present via Bootloader and I can choose between them.

Exchange User Group Meeting am 27. Juli 2012

Das nächste User Group Meeting der Exchange User Group findet am 27. Juli 2012 ab 18:30 Uhr statt. Die Teilnahme am Meeting ist wie immer persönlich bei Microsoft Deutschland in Unterschleißheim bzw. via Lync möglich. Dieses Mal haben wir Urlaubs- und Konferenzbedingt kein Vor-Ort Treffen in Wien (dafür aber beim nächsten Mal wieder). Bitte jedoch einfach über Lync teilnehmen!

Für dieses User Group Meeting haben Walter und ich uns aber etwas besonderes ausgedacht: so stellen wir die Neuerungen von Exchange Server 2013 und Office 365 vor.

Services und Hosting in der Cloud. Klingt super. Ist es auch. Ausfallsicherheit, Elastizität und Kosteneinsparung sind für mich spontan die wichtigsten Vorteile. Daneben gibt es natürlich auch noch Kostentransparenz, Ressourcenoptimierung und –einsparung und freie IT-Kapazitäten bis hin zum Umweltgedanken als weitere Pluspunkte.

Bei SaaS (Software as a Service ) Lösungen wie Office365 ist – was Qualität, Service und Kosten angeht - die Akzeptanz im Regelfall sehr hoch: Der Benutzer weiß genau, was er erhält: E-Mail Services zu einem monatlichen Fixpreis. Bei Bedarf können weitere Services wie SharePoint Online, CRM, Lync, etc. hinzugefügt werden – alles zu einer definierten monatlichen Pauschale.

Das Gelände ist so groß, dass etwa 50 eigene Shuttle Busse zwischen den einzelnen Gebäuden verkehren:

Wer fährt schon gerne im Februar/März nach Redmond? Rund 1.500 MVP’s aus aller Welt – die kommende Woche beim MVP Summit mit den Produktteams in Sessions zusammenarbeiten und mit den neuesten Informationen zu “Ihren” Produkten “gepimpt” werden und damit die hottest News erfahren– in meinem Fall ist das Office 365. Wer das bunte Treiben über Twitter verfolgen möchte: #mvp11.

Übrigens: der erste Summit fand vor rund 20 Jahren mit 34 MVP’s statt. Dieses Jahr sind es 1.500 – aus 80 Ländern, in 39 Sprachen. Vor 20 Jahren gab es 7 Feedback Sessions, jetzt sind es 600.

Wir sind besonders stolz, dass unsere Geschäftsführerin, Martina Grom, von Microsoft mit dem Most Valuable Professional Award (MVP) für ihre Expertise rund um Microsoft Online Services ausgezeichnet wurde!

**Martina ist damit weltweit eine von nur acht ausgezeichneten MVP´s für Office 365 und die erste MVP für Office365 im deutschsprachigen Raum!

und die einzige Frau. ;-)**
