We were happy to be part of the 4th SharePoint Saturday organized by sug.cat in Barcelona last weekend. #SPSBCN took place on the 27th October 2018 at IQS, Institut Químic de Sarrià, on the hills of the beautiful city of Barcelona and offered almost 20 sessions about Microsoft 365 and Azure. We from atwork, Martina Grom and I, had a session about “Real world business scenarios for Office 365 Groups” and we showed our Groups Governance Toolkit which is a combination of Azure Functions with PowerShell, LogicApps and Power-BI to achieve groups governance. Paris is always worth a trip, especially when the Modern Workplace Conference Paris 2018 takes place! So, we just returned from #MWCP18 that occurred from Tuesday, 16th to Thursday, 19th October at Microsoft France in Paris. Modern Workplace Conference Paris offered a pre-day and two conference days with four tracks and more than 50 sessions, delivered by Microsoft Corp speakers, IT-experts and Microsoft MVPs. The team led by Patrick Guimonet, Gokan Ozcifci, Sébastien Paulet, Nathalie Guimonet and Sencer Demir has a lot of experience in organizing IT-events and conferences. From 24th to 28th September, Microsoft’s largest and fourth Microsoft Ignite conference took place in Orlando, Florida. #MSIgnite is the largest and leading event for IT-Professionals, Developers and Decision-Makers in the Microsoft universe. With approximately 30,000 attendees and about 700 breakouts and a lot of theater-sessions , a large expo and a lot of networking, this event was huge. This session gives you insights from Microsoft IT about how they use their internal Teams Champion program to drive collaboration and communication using Microsoft Teams. The session was delivered by Sara Bush, Sr. Program Manager Microsoft Teams, Microsoft. In a good week, Microsoft Ignite 2018 will start! Ignite is Microsoft’s largest yearly IT conference that will take place from September 24 - 28, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. Ignite will offer about 700+ sessions, insights and roadmaps from industry leaders, and deep dives and live demos on the products you use every day. On July 1st, the Microsoft MVP Award Program announced new and renewed MVPs. We at atwork are happy that our MVP’s have been renewed for their community contributions for 2018-2019! The MVP Award is Microsoft’s way of thanking outstanding community leaders based on their actions to share knowledge and technology in all possible ways, from speaking engagements to supporting others in communities. Yesterday, on June 20th, the Insider Dev Tour (see insiderdevtour.com) took place in our home town Vienna. It’s a roadshow for software developers in the Microsoft universe delivering the latest news about Windows, Azure, Office, Graph, AI technology and more. I enjoyed being part of the event along with my fellow MVP colleagues and the Windows Development community. The content was more or less pre-defined and included demos and code-focused overviews of the new developer technologies coming out of Redmond. The topics included building native Win32/XAML apps and Progressive Web Apps, how to connect with new ecosystems using the Microsoft Graph and Windows Timeline (my session), how to add AI (Artificial Intelligence) into your projects, and how to bring your experiences into the next dimension through Mixed Reality and more. ...

This week, from May 28th to 30th 2018, European Collaboration Summit (ECS) took place in the Rheingoldhalle directly on the beautiful Rhine bank in Mainz, Germany. We enjoyed the community conference together with about 1,600 IT-colleagues and we had a blast! ECS (#collabsummit) is the largest community-driven conference in Europe in 2018 with a focus on Microsoft’s cloud services Office 365 and Azure. ECS is a three-day community event, based on the previous SPC Adriatics community events that took place formerly in Zagreb, Croatia, from 2012 to 2017 and more community events, see more details at the FAQ’s. Microsoft Ignite is Microsoft’s largest, yearly conference focused on the latest insights and skills from technology leaders and practitioners with more than 25.000 attendees and will take place in September 24–28, 2018 in Orlando, Florida. This week, from May 21st to 23rd, SharePoint Conference North America 2018 - now the Microsoft 365 Community Conference took place in fabulous Las Vegas, in the MGM Grand Hotel. Martina and I were glad to be part of the conference and enjoyed the conference, the networking and cool announcements and sessions! See some visual impressions of #SPC18 here!
