Adding Send as permissions to an Office 365 Group with PowerShell

Office 365 Groups provide a bunch of useful features for collaboration. In some cases, users want to send emails from an Office 365 group as sender. Restrict Office 365 Groups and Microsoft Teams creation in organizations

Restrict Office 365 Groups and Microsoft Teams creation in organizations

In many of my Office 365 projects customer want to limit the self-service of Office 365 groups creation. Gladly, this is possible in Office 365, with the definition that just specific users are able to create Office 365 groups. Since the launch of Microsoft Teams in March 2017 customers asked me several times if this policy also affect the creation of Microsoft teams? Well, let’s take a look. In a previous blog post, we described how to setup Office 365 Groups policies, check out Management capabilities for Office 365 Groups. Gain access as delegated partner to another Office365 tenant with PowerShell

Gain access as delegated partner to another Office365 tenant with PowerShell

The goal was administer an Office365 tenant as delegated partner. But, currently I had difficulties to access another Office365 tenant in the Microsoft Partner Portal. When selecting a partner and opening the Office 365 admin center, not the partner tenant was opened but instead my own tenant. I didn’t figure out why this no longer was working. Anyway, I tried to use PowerShell instead… The red marked links opened the Microsoft Partner Portal, but not on behalf of the partner tenant, but only showing my own Office 365 tenant… ...

PowerShell, welcome to Linux!

PowerShell, welcome to Linux!

As Jeffrey Snover ,Technical Fellow at Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Group, announced recently, PowerShell is open sourced and is available on Linux! It’s interesting to see that PowerShell - as a command-line shell and scripting language which is based on the Microsoft .NET Framework – now is available on Linux. This is possible because of the new .NET Core system running on Linux. In our modern times, when “Microsoft loves Linux”, such things are possible – and seem logical! ...

Skype for Business Policies im Griff haben-Teil 1

Raise user awareness with a MailTip for external recipients in Exchange Online

Raise user awareness with a MailTip for external recipients in Exchange Online

Policy tips in Exchange Online can be used for a lot of things: warnings if a user sends confidential information to someone outside the organization if a proper DLP policy is in place or other useful things. One simple and effective MailTip is available for a while now and helps to raise user awareness in writing e-mails. Nothing special happens, only due to the fact that the MailTip is here the sender probably thinks twice: are all my recipients correct? ...
