Techorama mainly focuses on developer technologies, architecture, but also on Modern Workplace and Data and Power Platform. This year the conference had the theme Jungle Edition. The entire conference and details were jungle themed, including team outfit, exhibitors and even a waterfall. What a great jungle experience!

SPFx App webpart is blocked in various browsers

Recently, I stumbled across a strange behavior when running self-developed SPFx webparts in various browsers. When the SPO app was deployed, it worked well with Single-Sign-On, but in some browsers, the webpart was blocked. Instead, a grey box saying login.microsoftonline.com refused to connect. was displayed. I experienced that behavior in Chrome, and Edge, while FireFox, Safarai and Opera showed the webpart. Also, there was a different experience when working in the normal mode, or in the In-Private mode. If that happens to you, check out the solution here.

Heute ein kleiner Tipp für alle IT-Admins, die RSS-Feeds im Browser verwenden oder generell XML-Dokumente ansehen wollen. Internet Explorer hat standardmäßig die Eigenschaft, URLs mit XML-Dokumenten als Feed in der sog. “Feedleseanzeige” darzustellen. Damit werden andere XML-Dokumente jedoch nicht wie erwartet angezeigt, sondern es folgt die Meldung “Dieser Feed kann nicht angezeigt werden”.

Wenn es sich um einen Feed im Format ATOM 0.3 oder 1.0, RSS 0.91 oder 0.92, RSS 1.0 oder RSS 2.0 handelt, verwendet IE die Feedleseanzeige. IE zeigt dann den RSS-Inhalt schön aufbereitet an. Das ist auch fein so, hier ein beliebiges Beispiel eines RSS-Feeds mit der Feedleseanzeige in IE10. Siehe hierzu auch Verwenden von Feeds (RSS).

Es ist nun auch möglich, technischen Support für Windows Azure Virtual Machines zu konsumieren – Die Preise starten bei 21,60 Euro/Monat. Viele Dinge in SharePoint sind ja wirklich sehr einfach umsetzbar. Die Stärken von SharePoint liegen sicherlich auch in der einfachen Erstellung und Handhabung von SharePoint-Listen. Umso mehr staunte ich über eine Anfrage: “Wie kann ich eine Liste sortieren?”.

Naja, die Antwort ist ja einfach: Man gehe in die Einstellungen der Ansicht und ändert dort die Eigenschaften auf die gewünschte Darstellung und Sortierung:

Hier wird entschieden, ob das Sortieren der Liste durch den Benutzer zugelassen wird oder eine eigene Sortierung verwendet werden soll - Hier soll der Benutzer selbst sortieren können.

Vor kurzem wurde eine Sicherheitslücke in ASP.NET bekannt wodurch ein Angreifer Zugriff auf normalerweise geschützten Informationen und Dateien einer ASP.NET Website erhalten kann.

Auch SharePoint ist betroffen!

Viel unserer Partner und Kunden verwenden Microsoft SharePoint. Hier ein paar technische und untechnische, lose und sehr subjektive Gedanken zu einem eigentlich sehr “technischen” Produkt.

SharePoint ist für Unternehmen in aller Munde - kaum ein (größeres) Unternehmen, das nicht SharePoint einsetzt oder zumindest kennt…

Nur: Was ist “SharePoint” eigentlich?

Microsoft hat seiner “collaboration platform” (Zusammenarbeits-Plattform) den hübschen (?) Namen SharePoint gegeben – übrigens kennt jemand eine passende deutsche Übersetzung dafür? “TeilPunkt” triffts wohl nicht wirklich… wird wohl eher sowas wie “gemeinsam genutze Seite” sein.

So, nach diesem sehr allgemeinen Statements zu meinem Thema: SharePoint.
War SharePoint 2007 in manchen Belangen besser als SharePoint 2010…?

In SharePoint 2007 habe ich sehr intensiv davon Gebrauch gemacht, Links zu Dokumenten zu verschicken – denn dafür ist SharePoint ja auch da: zur Zusammenarbeit und als zentrale Dateiablage.

Gut in SharePoint 2007 hat das fein funktioniert, einfach rechte Maustaste auf einen Link, Verknüpfung kopieren in E-Mail, Messenger o.ä. gehen und die Verknüpfung zum Dokument einfügen, fertig.

Neu Office Developer Center und SharePoint Developer Center

Ganz frisch zum Office 2010 und SharePoint 2010 Launch sind seit gestern das Office Developer Center und das ganz neue SharePoint Developer Center (vorerst in englisch) verfügbar.

Im SharePoint Developer Center wird eine Fülle an Informationen angeboten: What´s new, SDK, Get Started, Resource Center, Videos & Co – sprich: Alles, was man zum Entwickeln für SharePoint 2010 so braucht.
Ebenso sind im Portal die Trial SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Foundation 2010 (Nachfolger der freien Windows SharePoint Services - WSS) und SharePoint Designer 2010 downloadbar.

Ja, im April gehts aber schnell bei Microsoft: Nach der Ankündigung von Office 2010 folgt nun auch die Fertigstellung des Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 RTM.

“…They will be able to download the product in English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, and Dutch via the Volume Licensing Service Center starting April 27.” (Microsoft SharePoint Team Blog)

Der neue Server wird ab dem 27. April in den Microsoft Partner-Bereichen downloadbar sein, der offizielle Launch findet am 12. Mai statt.

Vor kurzem gefunden (von wem hab ich bloß diesen Tipp bekommen…?): SPVisualDev auf codeplex scheint ein sehr brauchbares Add-In in Visual Studio für die Entwicklung für SharePoint zu sein:

“SPVisualDev makes it easier for Sharepoint 2007 developers to develop features and artifacts with Visual Studio 2008. It is written in C# and is implemented as a Visual Studio 2008 Add-in.”

Noch recht frisch ist das SharePoint 2010: Developer Platform White Paper von Software-Architekt David Chappell.
Das SharePoint 2010: SharePoint Developer Platform Wall Poster ist ein PDF Dokument mit einer Art Developer-Plattform-Baum im Format 61 x 91 Zentimeter… ganz hübsch.
Ein sehr brauchbares Visio-Dokument ist Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Upgrade Planning, welches grob beschreibt, wie von SharePoint Server 2007 und SQL Server 2005 auf Windows Server 2008, SharePoint Server 2010 und SQL Server 2008 aktualisiert werden kann, von den Hardware und Software-Requirements bis hin zu Migrate from 32-bit to 64-bit hardware.

Wie schnell doch die Zeit vergeht: bis gestern war noch die SharePoint Konferenz 2010 in Las Vegas und die österreichischen Teilnehmer dort haben uns hautnah mit Infos versorgt. Schon können wir uns auf die nächste Gelegenheit freuen: ab November wird uns Office 2010 als Public Beta zur Verfügung stehen. Damit werden wir dann alle die Gelegenheit haben uns über die Neuerungen zu informieren.

Heute bin ich über einen ganz interessanten Blogeintrag von JOPX on SharePoint 2007 gestoßen: 3 interesting facts about SharePoint user profiles .

Wow, das kannte ich noch gar nicht, finde die Idee aber sehr nett: Podcasts zu SharePoint!

In Folge 27 geht es darum, wie die Leistung von SharePoint verbessert werden kann, bzw. wie man Flaschenhälse vermeiden kann. “…Es gibt leider keinen einzelnen Schalter, den man betätigt um SharePoint zu einer gut geölten Maschine zu machen…”, aber der Podcast informiert darüber, welche Maßnahmen man setzen sollte, um Engpässe zu vermeiden. Ich bin vor kurzem über eine Ankündigung zu einem Tool auf codeplex.com gestoßen, das vielversprechend klingt: SharePoint 2007 - Import from Spreadsheet to List. Das Tool von “ramp” ist noch ganz frisch (vom 14. Juli) und kann frei geladen und verwendet werden (Microsoft Permissive Lizenz).

Die Projektbeschreibung: “Import from Spreadsheet is the missing facet to the SharePoint 2007 List features. SharePoint let’s a user create custom list from a spreadsheet, but lacks the ability to import data to an existing SP list. This feature developed in C# .Net and easy to install will do just that.”

Ray Ozzie’s Groove bekommt in der Version 2010 einen neuen Namen: Microsoft SharePoint Workspace 2010 (ich versuche mal die Abkürzung: MSW – hm, ob das stimmt?). SharePoint Workspace ermöglicht den Zugriff auf SharePoint Inhalte – online und offline. Zudem ermöglicht es die Synchronisierung von SharePoint Libraries und Listen und ermöglicht die Offline Bearbeitung von Formularen und Dokumenten. Ist man dann mit dem SharePoint Server wieder online werden die Daten synchronisiert.

Jetzt ist es da: Das “Public update for the Office Service Pack 2 expiration date issue”. Beim Einspielen des Office Service Pack 2 (siehe Office 2007 SP2 kommt am 28. April) auf einem SharePoint Server konnte es passieren, dass das Ablaufdatum trotz gültiger Lizenz aktiviert wurde und sich SharePoint Server nach 180 Tagen wie eine Trial verhält und somit für Enduser nicht mehr verwendbar ist - siehe Ooops. SharePoint will expire! Wichtige Info zu SharePoint Server und Office Service Pack 2.
