At SharePointkonferenz.at (#spkonfat) we from atwork - Martina and me - had a session about Yammer with the title “Who needs Yammer when we have SharePoint?” (see program). Martina gave an overview of Enterprise Social, differences between SharePoint Social and Yammer, experiences, projects and studies. When using social tools remember: “Social Enterprise is implemented 80% through organization culture and 20% through technology.” by Gartner, September 2012. It´s our recommendation to have key users in each company to promote and help employees to understand what it means to work like a network. ...

Diese Woche fand die SharePoint Konferenz Wien statt (siehe auch hier). Am Montag war der Start mit drei Ganztagesworkshops, Dienstag und Mittwoch waren Konferenztage mit fünf und sechs Tracks mit je drei Sessions. Es waren wieder viele bekannte Sprecher aus der SharePoint-Community dabei. Das Programm war mit etwa 50 Sessions sehr umfangreich und reichte von Architektur bis Yammer. Veranstaltungsort war wie auch im Jahr zuvor die Event Pyramide im Süden von Wien. Dieses Jahr hatten wir Frühsommerwetter und angenehme Temperaturen. Somit war das Wetter perfekt für die Konferenz (dieses Jahr funktionierte die Klimatisierung wunderbar) und auch fürs Draußen Sitzen bei der Konferenzparty am Dienstag Abend. ...

Die TechEd Europe findet dieses Jahr vom 28. Oktober bis 31. Oktober 2014 in Barcelona statt. Wie bereits in den letzten Jahren hier ein paar Infos für alle Teilnehmer rund um die TechEd Europe. Kommende Woche, von 16. bis 18. Juni, findet die SharePoint Konferenz Wien statt. Veranstalter ist wieder ppedv in Kooperation mit Microsoft. Am Montag ist Pre-Conference-Day mit einer Reihe von Workshops. Dienstag und Mittwoch finden rund 50 Vorträge statt, hier geht’s zur Agenda. Es sind wieder viele bekannte Sprecher aus der SharePoint-Community dabei. Event-Location ist wieder die Eventhotel Pyramide, Parkallee 2 in 2334 Vösendorf. Wir erinnern uns gerne an die äußerst coole Konferenzparty am ersten Vortragsabend letztes Jahr am Badeteich. Und für Drinnen: Beim aktuellen heißen Sommerwetter werden die Klimaanlagen in der Pyramide jetzt schon vorgetestet – diesmal sollte die Kühlung auch im Aufenthaltsbereich klappen. Schönes Wetter ist auf jeden Fall wieder bestellt, laut Wettervorhersage wird’s aber am Dienstag mit nur 15° regnerisch sein und erst wieder am Mittwoch um die 20° und Sonne haben. ClubComputer veranstaltet alljährlich sein cccamp – dieses Jahr findet das Event am 14. Juni in Wien statt! Es handelt sich dabei um ein Treffen von Netzenthusiasten, Bloggerinnen und Bloggern, mit Teilnehmern aus den verschiedensten Lebensbereichen (Lehrende, Schüler, Coder, IT und Netzwerkadministratoren, Künstler, Politiker, Geschäftsleute). Mit einem Sommernachtsfest wird das cccamp ab 20 Uhr ausklingen! Dieses Jahr gibt es eine Reihe von interessanten Vorträgen, wir diskutieren über die Festplattenabgabe, ob Social Media nach dem Hype noch Sinn macht, wie man Datenschutz rechtlich durchsetzen kann, Netzneutralität, Grundlagen der Verschlüsselung und vieles mehr. Right now Microsoft TechEd 2014 is happening in Houston, Texas. Tools-Maker Telerik is also celebrating this event and gives away their best tools for creating Windows Universal Apps for Windows 8 and Windows Phone. Interested Developers open https://www.telerik.com/account/teched.aspx, register (or use your existing telerik account) and claim a license for the Telerik tools. Last week European SharePoint Conference 2014 took place in Barcelona. Time to recap mentions of the SharePoint event on Twitter (hashtag #ESPC14). Here are the results by 11th May, 21:30 made with Twitter Analytics for Excel (which @magrom also showed in her session PowerBI and SharePoint Online). In this week there were more than 4.300 tweets sent, about 40% (1.700) of them were retweets. The top tweet-days were Wednesday followed by Tuesday and Thursday with average 1.200 tweets daily in these three days. (Click on the graphics to increase them.) ...

European SharePoint Conference took place in Barcleona this year. After last year in February in Copenhagen now it´s time for sunny Catalonia in May for Sun, Sea, Sand and SharePoint! Last weekend SharePoint Saturday Belgium #SPSBE took place in a suburb of Brussels, see https://www.spsevents.org/city/Brussels/Brussels2014/home. It was the 4th SPS in Belgium and the SharePoint community met for exchanging knowledge … and having a fun and a great event. We from atwork (@magrom and @atwork) were happy to be part of SPSBE and had a great weekend in Brussels (which was in fact our first time in Belgium which was awesome). About 250 participants followed the invitation to the community event which occured in St-Lendriksborre at the location of Xylos, one of the main sponsors for SPSBE. ...
