Last Friday, the cloudusergroup organized the Virtual Community Event #ADCD2022, the Austrian Developer Community Day 2022. We had 25+ interesting sessions with great speakers and a great virtual day of the event. Here are some impressions of it. There hasn’t been a local community event for cloud developers for a long time. So we decided to hold such an event. Martina Grom and I, Toni Pohl, started to organize the event end of 2021. Due to the current Covid situation, it was clear that the event could unfortunately only take place virtually. Thankfully we got great support from Rainer Stropek, Martin Ullrich, Christian Glessner and Zaid Zaim. and we found some sponsors for advertising and for financing the community platform Hopin we wanted to use for the first time: Thanks to Microsoft Austria, atwork, Software Architects, hololux, tietoevry and to Coding Club Linz for your support! ...

Another challenging year is coming to an end. We would like to wish happy holidays and a happy new year to all of you. Once more, we say thank you for the good cooperation in 2021 and are looking forward to a healthy and successful 2022! As in previous years, this Christmas we are supporting a selected project with a donation. atwork is closed from December 24th, 2021 to January 9th, 2022. Our on-call duty and our support will be able to be contacted during the holidays. Our entire team will be back for you from January 10, 2022. ...

It’s a wrap! The European Collab Summit and Cloud Summit (www.collabsummit.eu) are sister conferences and are the major community-driven technology conferences focusing on digital transformation, the Cloud, and modern workplace. This year, after being remote for almost two years, the atwork-team attended the conference as speakers and attendees (of course in compliance with the COVID-19 safety concept), and we had a blast! The conference took place from 11/29 – 12/2 at Messe Düsseldorf, Germany, with excellent experts who informed about topics, such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Artificial Intelligence, SharePoint, Microsoft Viva, Teams, Yammer, and Business Apps & Power Platform. At McKinsey Insights, Marco Dondi, Julia Klier, Frédéric Panier, and Jörg Schubert published an interesting article about the skills citizens will need in the future world of work. They find that the demand for technological, social and emotional, and higher cognitive skills will increase. Microsoft Teams hat wieder eine neue Funktion veröffentlicht, die wir gleich getestet haben: Laserpointer und Textmarker-Funktion in PowerPoint Live für Microsoft Teams. Um es kurz zu machen, bedeutet es, dass man mit dem Laserpointer auf PowerPoint Folien zeigen kann, sowie diese mit Tinte und Textmarker (in verschiedenen Farben & Stärken) beschriften kann, um wichtige Inhalte hervorzuheben. Daneben kann man auch den Radierer verwenden, um den Textmarker oder Stift wieder zu entfernen. ...
