Want to check the status of your notebook battery? Well, Christoph Wilfing showed me how this works in Windows:
C:\Windows\system32>powercfg /batteryreport
Battery life report saved to C:\Windows\system32\battery-report.html.
C:\Windows\system32>start battery-report.html
The output is an HTML file with all detailed information:

My notebook is about 1.5 years old (with a firmware about 1 year old).
The report says, the battery (which is about 3 years old ) is still in a good shape:
~81.000 mWh full charge capacity for 94.480 mWh design capacity.
