Delegate365 changelog version 8.1-Many new features

These days, the next major Delegate365 version 8.1 is released. In that new version, there are a lot of new and improved features available for all Delegate365 customers. The menu has been restructured, permission policies allow to define granular rights and license policies simplify the set of licenses for Scope Admins. Furthermore, there are a bunch of useful improvements and the Delegate365 PowerShell module is available. See the details here.

Delegate365 changelog version 8.1-New License Policies

With Delegate365 version 8.1 and the new permission policies, there come the new license policies as well. In previous versions of Delegate365, Admins could restrict the Office 365 licenses and plans for each Scope Admin. Now, the license set is replaced by a license policy that can be assigned to multiple administrators. See here, how this works.

Delegate365 changelog version 8.1-New permission policies

When we started with Delegate365 five years ago, basic permissions were sufficient to control what features can be used by Scope Admins. Since Delegate365 evolved with more functionality and we received requests from our customers, it was time to renew the permission control to a more granular level. So, the existing permissions have been replaced with permission policies. With Delegate365 version 8.1, each Administrator gets a permission policy assigned that controls on a very granular level, what modules and features can be managed. The new menu structuring is part of that functionality. See how the permission policies work and how existing permissions are converted here.

Delegate365 changelog version 8.1-Menu restructuring

With Delegate365 version 8.1 there comes a new menu structure. The new menu groups the functions more logically and allows granular control with new permission policies. The new policies are are described in a separate article. See the menu differences before and after in this overview.

It is valuable and gives you good insights, how a worldwide company with more than 220k employees adopt and implement IT. During my projects I see that there is not a lot of difference in IT planning among large enterprises. Microsoft IT shares insights which can be extremely valuable when you use that in your own enterprise. First Sara and Pouneh talked about why Microsoft moved form Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams helps the organization to get all communication channels together in one place. To drive adoption Microsoft IT runs an internal adoption program around awareness, engagement, measurement, management.Success factors were defined in measurements, like collecting usage data, feedback to gain trust and awareness. The project scope was very clear:Get more than >200k users to use Microsoft Teams and move away from Skype for Business. Success factors showed that it worked:over 55% of all chats happen in Teams, Teams meetings are widely used.Champions feedback measurements: 98% Program satisfaction, 88% Satisfaction Training support. 83% Satisfaction with monthly calls. To drive adoption and usage Microsoft IT used a champions program. First champs came from passionate users which were found within their most active Teams Yammer participants. People wants to be in the know. Microsoft IT developed a training: Art of teamwork. It is a level 100 training for end users, which is available to customers as well. More showcases are available here. Champions List for organization. promote readiness. Gets : Digital Profile Badge, Digital & Physical Swag. Engage with SME's and the Microsoft Product Group. The results are impressive:more than 650 Champions, 45 Countries, 90 BuildingsTo find champions use the channels which are available - like Microsoft IT used the Yammer group. They make their Champions recognizable. Further ways to drive adoption worked through Gamification: A little friendly competition. Earn points by hosting internal training. Point system for users development. new badges for new levels. Impacts the performance reviews. What did not work: too much products, different generations, resistance about taking Skype away. Give users a place to talk about that: UserVoice. Yammer community. If you look into bringing a new communication tool into life, look at this usecases!Resources:Slides VideostreamThe Art of Teamwork resource Kit
